Learn to tie your first fly, learn to cast, and make knots easy. The
Federation of Fly Fishers will be teaching kids from 8 to 80 on the
basics of fly fishing. Be sure to stop by their learning area on the
show floor during the show.

Special Casting Classes:
The Fly Fishing Show is  always a core connector for fly fishing Professionals; The Federation of Fly Fishers use our events as a principal way of increasing the professional competence of their Certified Casting Instructors. They will be running testing for certification a Continuing Education Programs and an opportunity for others to get introduced to this growing practice.

Fly Tying with Eric Stroup:
Tying Perfect Dry Flies –Catskills-Parachutes and Comparaduns.  Intermediate $75
Fly Tying with Joe Cordeiro: 
Flat wings and other striper flies. Intermediate $75
Fly Tying with Vince Wilcox: Come learn how to tie flies from his upcoming book  "Vince WIlcox's Naturally Artificial Signature Flies" - Lyons Press April 2012. The class will walk you through combining synthetic and natural materials to create more effective and durable flies that are sold in shops around the country and on streams everywhere.  Included with the class fee is 6 signature flies for each student! Intermediate- Cost $75

The classes will be held in the Royal Plaza Best Western Hotel. The Spey class is in the Exhibit Hall. Check-in there at the ticket counter at 5:45. For all other classes, check-in at the hotel 15-30 minutes prior to the start of class.  If a class is cancelled, you will be notified prior to the show and permitted to switch or receive a refund.

Note: Most tying classes require some tying experience and others may require more. Ask us when you call. Beginners are welcome, but be prepared for more than basics. All students must bring their own tying vise, tools, lamp if needed, and a sampling of materials. Most classes will provide adequate materials for the patterns being taught.  If a class is canceled, you will be notified 5 days prior to the show and permitted to switch or receive a refund.

Casting Classes: Bring your own rod, reel & line.

Fly Tying Classes: Bring your own tools & a basic selection of materials.

To insure quality instruction class size is limited. Call us for more class descriptions or availability. Classes will fill and close, so register early. The tuition charge of $75 includes admission to the show for that day. There are no refunds unless the class is canceled. You MUST register in advance. Credit cards accepted.
