Welcome to our tenth anniversary Fly Fishing Show in Denver. The first weekend in January has started off each of the last ten years with our fun event and learning experience. You have been able to see and buy all the latest gear in fly fishing, watch our huge aisle of fly tying experts, attend fantastic talks, see amazing casting demos, and discover all the best local and exotic fly fishing destinations. And it’s all for one price, plus, Free Parking! This year will even be better, if that’s possible to imagine. New tyers, new talks, and new celebrities are all in our plans for 2010. Just to mention a few, we welcome Dave Hughes, one fly fishing’s most prolific authors, his buggy buddy Rick Hafele is coming to share his entomology expertise, and a casting phenomenon, Michale Mauri, will be here all the way from Germany to show you why he’s Europe’s best trick caster. Returning again and recognized as one of the best distance casters will be Rick Hartman. Our annual celebrity list is a “who’s who” in fly fishing. There is only one show to meet, talk, and learn from the likes of A.K. Best, Gary Borger, Ed Engle, John Gierach, Dave Whitlock, just to name a few. The Sleeper event is our “Destination Theater” where you can find out all about our best fly fishing locations from the guides and lodge owners who know these waters the best. And don’t forget about our special private classes with our celebrity experts. Check out that selection in our brochure and register before they are sold out. This is the only part of our show requiring a sign up and additional fee, but is very popular and worthwhile. The F.F.F. will be expanding our “Family Learning Center,” so bring the whole gang for free fly tying and casting lessons. Watch the face of your child look like it’s Christmas morning after he or she ties their “first fly” or makes their longest cast. Returning and expanding is our “Rocky Mountain Bamboo Revival” section where you’ll see demonstrations, finished rods and Jeff Hatton’s astonishingly historic rod museum display. Cast a $3,000 bamboo rod, no problem. Ask questions and learn this classic part of our sport. Your support has made our show an annual must attend weekend for the last decade. We are proud to be able to continue to direct such a welcomed all fly fishing event to Denver. Hope to see all of you again this next decade. —Chuck Furimsky, Director |
